We are always thankful for every person, member or visitor, who attends worship with us either on Sunday or Wednesday. Our Sunday services are at 8:30 and 11:00 am. Adult Forum meets year-round at 9:45am. Sunday Schools meets from 9:45 to 10:45 am September through May. On Wednesdays we meet at 6:00 pm for Soup and Vespers/Evening Prayer. Here's a little more information to help you understand what we do and which service you might decide to attend.

Sunday 8:30 am
This is a fairly informal service. It is very liturgical, as you will discover, in good Lutheran fashion and we celebrate Holy Communion at every service. As is our communion policy, all baptized Christian are welcome to receive the sacrament with our family.

The principle worship resource is our hymnal WITH ONE VOICE. The main instruments are guitar and voice. (Pastor is the principle musician at this service but is always looking for more players and singers to help out.) Children and young people are invited to be more than passive observers by helping as ushers, readers, and communion assistants.

11:00 am
This is a more formal service with THE LUTHERAN BOOK OF WORSHIP as our primary resource. Most of the liturgy, with the exception of the hymns, is printed in the weekly bulletin. We celebrate Holy Communion on a more or less regular schedule, 1st and 3rd Sundays, all festivals, and every Sunday during special seasons of the church year.

Our congregation has five Care & Share groups comprising most of our families. Each C&S Group serves a month at a time providing the "people resources" we need to our worship life: readers, ushers, communion assistants, acolytes, etc. We encourage families to take on all these worship roles as they can.

Music is provided by our church organists who play our historic Kessler pipe organ, our excellent Yamaha upright piano or our Kurzweil electronic keyboard. Our small but hard-working choir also sings regularly at this service (September to May).

Wednesday at 6:00 pm
Several years ago, during one of our Lenten worship services that began with a soup and bread meal, we decided the experience was so meaningful we kept on meeting.

Attendance ranges from 2 to 22 depending on who is in town, how many visitors have been invited, and what is happening around town. We never know from week to week how many will attend but there's is always enough to go around. We begin with the meal at 6:00 pm. Our simple worship service begins at 6:30, plus or minus four or five minutes.

We use both of our worship books and this is a very informal service as we sit around the tables in our fellowship room downstairs. Communion is offered on a very irregular schedule but is always available if those attending request it.
