If you are a first-time visitor, on normal Sundays when you enter the narthex (a churchy word for entrance area) you will usually be met by one of our friendly Greeters. He or she will welcome you warmly, give you one of our Sitka Roses (hand-made by a member of the congregation -- who has made thousands over the years) attached to a small slip of paper we hope you fill out so we can record your visit and follow-up with you if that is requested. OFFERING? We are a congregation who believe sharing our God-given gifts and resources is an important part of our discipleship. We do take an offering at every service to allow members and friends to contribute their tithes and offerings. Do not feel you have to make a contribution at this point. If you do, thank you for your generosity. We appreciate all the gifts our visitors bring to us, time, talents, interest, enthusiasm, the opportunity to learn about another congregation, another part of the world and of the church.
KIDS? Welcomed always as full participants in worship and activities. We have a Family Room in the sanctuary when children have one of "those" moments. Our 8:30 am service is family-friendly: children and families usher, serve communion, read the lessons, and sometimes help with music.
FOLLOWING THE WORSHIP ORDER? Our bulletins contain the elements (except for the hymns)
BAPTISM
& HOLY COMMUNION? As "Means of grace"
Baptism and Communion are central to our faith and to our worship life. We
celebrate communion every Sunday at the 8:30 am service and as often as
we can at the 11 am service. All baptized Christians of
any age are invited to share the sacrament with our family whenever we
celebrate. If you are interested in Baptism, please contact the church
office. |
